Did you know that October 16th is LOVE YOUR BODY DAY? Well, in New Zealand it is. And to celebrate, the fabulous organization EDEN (Eating Difficulties Education Network) suggests women get together and host cupcake parties. Why cupcakes? Read about it here. Oh, and are you as big of a fan of this t-shirt as I am? Buy it, wear it, and embody your anti-diet commitment. I swear I’d smile all day if I saw someone touting this.
In the US, Love your Body Day, sponsored by NOW (National Organization for Women), is October 19th. Part of the campaign is the Let’s Talk About It project, which encourages women to speak up about body image, on camera. Watch some of the videos.
And if that isn’t inspiring enough, check out the winners from the LOVE YOUR BODY: 2001 POSTER CONTEST, which you can even send as e-cards!
My personal favorite:
You have a couple months before the official day, so why not rally your friends and families together – host an event in celebration of your new (or old) commitment to love yourself unconditionally and treat yourself with respect!
If anyone buys this shirt, please send me a photo of you rockin’ it out and I’ll post it with your story.
